THE STORY

It all started with a meeting of few likeminded persons who were already engaged in welfare activities, to start something on the medical side for the poor people of Karachi, Pakistan. Our mentors, our teachers, have always been preaching us to help others and their lessons ignited the spark to do something to give back to the society.
Few Little Folks’ School’s (LFS) class fellows met and decided to build a welfare medical center for the poor. One team member offered his plot in a slump area of Karachi, the others pledged to raise funds to build the hospital.
You go one step towards a good deed and Allah helps in 100 ways. Mr. Akbar, uncle of a team member offered his newly built building in North Karachi area to be dedicated for this cause in Dec 2019. We were all excited to start it immediately when the Covid 19/Corona virus hit. So we had to wait till June 2020 before it was inaugurated.
The initial team members Shuja, Salman, Azeem & Farah batch 84 (LFS) collected funds to buy medical equipment & medicine, to renovate the hospital building and to hire the paramedical staff. Dr. Ata ur Rehman batch 84 and his wife Dr. Kiran Ata initiated the process and were the first doctors who started the OPD clinics in June 2020. They supported the other team members, in setting up the rules, advising which medicines to buy and how to run the medical center. Since they were here only to kick start the medical center, they left for their routine jobs after serving dedicatedly for about two months.
Salman & Shuja then hired other doctors to run the clinics. Now, Alhamdulillah, it is not only expanding rapidly but more and more people are joining in and providing funds, medical equipment and other support to help run it. New areas Like Gynecology is being introduced and plans are underway to induct more therapeutic segments to serve the people of the area more effectively.
Some donors provided Ambulance, Beds, Ultrasound and ECG machines in addition to providing regular funding to the medical center.

Starting with LFS batch 84, more and more batches are being inducted as regular donors and members to the medical welfare facility.
